Dodd’s Organic Gin has been named one of ‘the finest products in the world’ winning the prestigious double gold medal at the renowned San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC).
The double gold is awarded to those spirits that receive a gold medal ranking from all the judges during the four-day experienced blind tasting.
A juniper-forward gin, Dodd’s is certified organic by The Soil Association – a recognised and trusted mark of organic certification internationally. It is distilled in a traditional alembic copper still while the more delicate botanicals are reserved for our state-of-the-art cold vacuum still. The two spirits are then married for several weeks before being bottled for a smooth and soft gin with a slightly honeyed mouth feel and a hint of earthy spice, freshened by raspberry leaf.
Dodd’s win was closely followed by Two Birds Watermelon Gin which was presented with a gold medal for being an ‘exceptional’ spirit that set the standard in its category. This fruit-flavoured gin is popular throughout the year with customers thanks to its refreshing flavour that is reminiscent of summer the whole year round. It has recently won several awards at international spirits competitions, including a gold at The Spirits Business Spring Tasting, silver at the London Spirits Competition and bronze at the IWSC.
KEEPR’s Classic Honey Infused Gin also became a second-time silver medal winner at this competition after it won in 2020 for being one of the best in its category. English Heritage Organic Dry Gin picked up a silver and KEEPR’s Smoked Honey Infused Bourbon was awarded a bronze for being a ‘well-crafted spirit’.
Commercial Director for the British Honey Company, Stuart Fritz, said: “We are blown away by Dodd’s double gold medal. Dodd’s is a unique and exceptional-tasting spirit that has a firm base of fans, and we are thrilled that the judges have given it the recognition it deserves and more.
“Two Birds Watermelon Gin is also a hugely popular spirit among consumers, and it is a huge boost to the team that the SFWSC also felt this way. In fact, we are still riding high from our successes at several recent international competitions and are looking forward to bringing you more innovative and exciting spirits in the future.”
