After slumbering in its oak casks for the past five years, the second release of our Rye Whiskey LV-1767 Edition has finally arrived, following its inaugural showcase back in 2018.
Laid down on October 31, 2014 by The London Distillery Company, now part of the British Honey Company family, and the first whiskey to be distilled in London since the closure of the Lea Valley Distillery in the 1900s, this Warminster rye whiskey is now ready to be savoured.
With aromas of chocolate and lightly roasted coffee, followed by banana and pear notes and a hint of apple mint, it is bottled at 54.3% ABV. On the palate you will be greeted by the taste of rich cinnamon and stewed peaches, which complement the beeswax note from the oak, and lingering undertones of macadamia and light lemon verbena. To finish is a touch of white pepper spice and luscious dark cherry.
Oliver Williams, Commercial Director, said: “We are thrilled to be able to bring to the table our second outing of the first whiskey produced in London in over 100 years. This barrel-aged whiskey is great for sipping neat or with a touch of water to bring out the aroma. It has a real intensity of flavour and a beautiful oak hue.
“We are part of a growing number of distilleries producing exciting new English whiskies. If you are a whiskey connoisseur who is intrigued by new and innovative offerings, then our LV-1767 edition is for you.”
Presented in bespoke crafted, luxury oak boxes made by Moran’s Wooden Components, our Rye Whiskey is an ideal gift for enthusiasts.
The whiskey was originally laid down in London where it was distilled, but after we purchased The London Distillery Company, it was moved to our distillery in Buckinghamshire where it currently resides.
The LV-1767 is a limited edition, priced at £350.
